Objective & Legal Framework

In compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the directives of the Government of Jharkhand, Akshat College of Health Education has constituted the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC). The committee is dedicated to preventing any form of gender-based discrimination or harassment and providing a robust redressal mechanism for all female students, faculty, and staff.

The ICC operates with a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment, ensuring that the dignity of every woman on campus is protected through awareness, prevention, and timely intervention.

Prevention & Awareness

  • Organizing gender sensitization workshops for students and staff.
  • Displaying POSH guidelines and contact details across the campus.
  • Ensuring a secure environment through improved lighting and surveillance.

Redressal & Support

  • Conducting fair and time-bound inquiries into formal complaints.
  • Providing counseling and immediate support to the aggrieved.
  • Recommending disciplinary actions as per institutional and state laws.

Filing a Complaint

Following the statutory procedures, the ICC at Akshat College maintains a strict protocol for handling cases:

  1. Submission: The aggrieved woman can submit a written complaint to the Presiding Officer of the ICC.
  2. Confidentiality: All proceedings, including the identity of the parties involved, are kept strictly confidential as per legal requirements.
  3. Conciliation: At the request of the aggrieved, the committee may facilitate a conciliation process before initiating an inquiry.
  4. Formal Inquiry: If conciliation is not opted for, a formal inquiry is completed within a period of 90 days.

Commitment to Safety

Akshat College of Health Education ensures that no student or employee is victimized for reporting a grievance. All administrative actions and records related to the ICC are strictly monitored and managed through the Campus ERP System to maintain institutional accountability and transparency.
